Hack-O-Hire – FAQ

1. Do only the team leader register on the HackerEarth platform?

Ans: Yes, only the team leader will register on the HackerEarth platform. He/She will have to put details of all the other participating members in his team.

2. Can a team of members from 2nd and 3rd year be combined or formed?

Ans: Yes, students can form cross-year teams provided they are from the approved streams (Computer Science, IT, ENTC, AI/ML, and Data Science).

3. Can students form teams across different campuses?

Ans: No, students cannot form teams with students from a different campus.

4. Is the Barclays Hackathon open for all campuses?

Ans: The hackathon is open for our engagement campuses (PICT Pune, VIT Pune, Cummins Pune, SPIT Mumbai, SRM Chennai, and SSN Chennai).

5. Will we get an extension to submit the ideas?

Ans: No, we have already extended the date of submission of ideas by 1 day. Instead of 1st April, you can now submit by 2nd April EOD.

6. When can we expect the results to be announced?

Ans: The shortlists will be announced by 15th April, and it will be communicated to your college TPO. Only the shortlisted students will join us in our Pune and Chennai office.

7. Can the student participate or register in one or more teams?

Ans: No, students can be part of only one team or one problem statement. Any student who has registered in more than one team will not be considered.

8. Can we as a team register ourselves for more than one problem statement?

Ans: No, each team can register only for one problem statement.

9. Is it mandatory to have a female in the team?

Ans: Yes, it is mandatory that at least one member in the team should be female.

10. Will the mentors be available on the day of the event if we have any doubts?

Ans: Yes, mentors will be present in both Pune and Chennai offices if the students have doubts.

11. What is the evaluation criteria for PPTs?

Ans: It has been shared on the HackerEarth portal under the evaluation criteria tab.

12. Is there any format in which the idea is to be submitted, like PPT or Word document?

Ans: No specific format, students can choose what suits them best to present it. No limitation on the number of pages or slides.

13. Is inter-branch team registration allowed?

Ans: Yes.
